Considering Proverbs 11:4

Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death.

I think of a passage in Isaiah 2 that says, “in that day they will cast their idols of silver and their idols of gold which they made everyone for himself to worship to the moles and to the bats; to go into the clefts of the rocks and into the tops of the raged rocks. For fear of the Lord, for the glory of His majesty, when He arises to shake terribly the earth.” Isaiah 31 repeats the same message.

I also think about the coming of the Lord who will “destroy with the brightness of His coming.” I think about the judgment and vengeance of God we see in Revelation 16, 19, and 20.

The day of God’s vengeance will come someday and all of the riches that man trust in will come to nothing.

This is an interesting proverb because although this is an Old Testament proverb, the gospel of Jesus Christ is hidden within it.

The only thing that can save us from the day of wrath is the blood of Jesus. His righteousness delivers us from death.

When we believe that Jesus is the Son of God who lived as a man, died for our sins, now lives and is our Lord and redeemer, we are saved from the wrath of God and the everlasting death that we deserve.

As we continue in this faith and get to know Jesus, we learn what righteousness looks like and we can begin to see the practicality of righteousness. It does in-fact save from death. Sin is destructive. The more our world embraces sin and godlessness, the more we can see this to be true and give thanks to God for all that was given to us through Jesus Christ and made strong in us by His Holy Spirit.

Without Jesus and His Holy Spirit, we have no hope.

Man can do many things in their attempts to avoid the wrath of God and death. They can build up riches and security in this world. They can rob the poor through false promises of prosperity while they pull the strings of the masses, leading them to their doom.

Greed is going to kill a lot of people.

The general people are promised riches. Meanwhile, the government, media, and big business work together to rob all of us into oblivion and mass genocide so they can sit in the seat of power and luxury, farming mankind for their selfish gain. They have no real care for people. All of their supposed care for the poor is robbery and enslavement—all the while accusing those who do care as being racist, fascist, and greedy capitalists. Hypocrites and liars the whole lot of them!

Yet, the average, every day person is ready to stand sleepily in line with their hypnotic phone in hand – six feet apart, fully masked, and “vaccinated” of course – as they wait for their turn to die. “Stay here and trust in us,” the elites say. “Here, have this money. Just stay in line.” “Here, have this badge of virtue that you can signal to the others. You’re such a good boy. Now, stay in line, and don’t forget to mock the people who refuse to stay in line. Those people who refuse to stay in line? They are liars. They hate people. They are selfish. They are racist. They want people to be poor.”

Wake up you “woke” and get out of that damned line! You are being manipulated by mass-scale narcissists. Gaslighting. Projection. Triangulation. Scapegoating. Look it up.

On one hand, I feel so sorry for people because they were raised by the educational system and media to fall in line and they think they are doing right. They think that their leaders will save them. They think that those who do not fall in line are evil.

The opposite is true and the only way out of this lying manipulation, mass confusion, and stupidity is Jesus Christ. Those who stay in line are showing what really matters to them in the end: their riches, themselves, praising sin, and hating God and His people. Take a look at 2 Timothy 3.

“lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy. Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good. Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.”

Go ahead. Stay in line and walk right into the fiery pits of hell. “Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness.”

We are so attached to our modern riches and comforts. Christians included. What will we do in order to maintain these things? Will we sell out like Esau did, for a bit of bread? Lord willing, we will not. I trust that all who sincerely love Jesus will not sell out but will face persecution and death instead, trusting that Jesus will raise them again and His vengeance will come—a vengeance that no amount of riches can combat.

Do not trust in man and their riches that will do nothing but burn in the end. Trust in Jesus.
